God Saw You Getting Tired

God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be.
So He wrapped his arms around you,
and whispered, "come to me."

You didn't deserve what you went through,
So He gave you rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best

And when I saw you sleeping,
So peaceful and free from pain
I could not wish you back
To suffer that again.

Martha I rest assured that you are in the company of those who have passed before you. You were an amazing cousin, mother, grandmother, wife, professional, docent and much more. Your perpetual smile, love and friendship will be truly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family because it's going to be hard to imagine life without you. Love You, Marian

Martha, Shakeb and I loved you dearly!!! During our early years settling into life in the US, you made us feel welcomed and loved here and that means the world to us! I always loved talking to you and listening to all your stories and tales, especially those relating to politics! Over the years I have talked about you to innumerable women re-defining their lives when their parenting stage in life was coming to a slow-down (about how you went to law school after you raised your four kids). You will always be an inspiration to me! Our thoughts and prayers go out to George (who has lost an incredible partner), to your children and grandchildren to whom you were a model mother and grandmother!

Chris, your mom was absolutely so impressive...and so beautiful! Thank you for sharing. I know she'll be missed, of course, by her family...but also by the larger community. What a perfect tribute!

Such a wonderful combination of intelligence, curiosity, cheerfulness, friendliness. and drive! Some have one or two. Martha displayed all. How lucky you were to have her as a family member and how fortunate Stu and I feel to have visited with her over the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Martha & I shared many happy times as soroity sisters. My parents were living in Waukegan when I started at Lake Forest. One day Martha & I took the train to downtown Chicago to buy material for gowns we were going to wear to some fancy party. When I look back on that experience and the district we were in - I realize just how lucky we were!! Of course, Martha had designed her gown...I just used a pattern. Her endless smile and enthusiasm for life will be missed.

Dear Wolz family,
We were saddened to learn of Martha's death. We are glad we got to meet her on several of her trips to Alexandria; there are fond memories of sitting around Eugenie and Chris' table discussing Milwaukee politics and enjoying George and Martha's bratwurst mit sauerkraut (and Miller beer).
We hope that happy memories make this time a little easier.
